Winner of the WordWeaving Award of ExcellenceKealey wishes she had the ability to take life with the openness and spontaneity that she sees in others. But years of being shuffled between foster homes taught her to guard her feelings and desires carefully. Doggedly erected barriers prevent anyone from drawing close, yet somehow Luke manages. With his gentle understanding of three orphans, Luke slips beneath her defenses. Despite his best intentions, however, Luke cannot provide the children with a two parent home; which, of course, is in their best interests. When Kealey finely understands just what Luke can provide, it may be too late to keep him and the three orphans together without resorting to a marriage of convenience.
While the Marriage of Convenience miniseries suggests a rather predictable plotline, author Bonnie K. Winn fashions a character driven romance with heart touching originality. From the shopping cart escapade that brings Luke and the orphans together to Kealey's newly discovered enthusiasm and creativity, each moment becomes charmingly poignant. Further, Luke's small gifts and loving treatment of Kealey, despite her clear cut goals of ending the marriage at a specified time, demonstrate his own remarkable abilities to risk his heart without expectation, but always with hope. Very highly recommended.

A must have for anyone interested in information security! This book is the only book on my shelf I recommend *everyone* (interested in security) read. It is ground breaking because it starts from scratch and looks at the function and follows with what the form should be. I think this book is a decade ahead of it's time and that until every programmer, consultant, system architect, and info-sec employee read this book and the information becomes ingrained as common sense will security be truly possible in any meaningful way.
Most importantly it gives useful information on how to apply this information right now, a decade before we have good competition in the security product market place that will solve this kind of problem. If you plan on doing any kind of intrusion detection, the information in this book must be at your finger tips... It is the only way to measure how well solutions deliver, and to create meaningful metrics for measuring information security solutions.
The book has a certain prose about it that keeps on building on the previous idea, and hence seems to be repeating itself, however it is a short book that everyone from CEO to "in the trench guy" can read. Keep reading and thinking about what is being presented to you however and I think you will find as I did that the book is way ahead of it's time and you will soon be building a secure infrastructure for your business that you can measure, and justify.

Because of Winn-Dixie
Need a good read...This book is an enjoyable read for any age. The author has done a wonderful job of setting the location of where the story is taking place, whom the character's are and gives the reader the feeling of being in the story. The text is not hard to read but some of the dialect could be difficult. There is a bit of understatement in the book that may be hard for younger reads to understand but not enough to discourage reading, the writing style is one that fits the story line.
On a personal level I highly recommend this book to anyone who has ever felt lost in the world and needed a friend. Having grown up moving around in the southern states I truly connected to this book and if nothing else this is a great book about a girl and her dog.

Mumbai Vacation (With Apologies to Chevy Chase)
A crystal clear search for magic, mystery and myths...This 'Karma Bible' opens up doors to religion, antropology, biology, mysticicm, drugs, yoga, kabbalah, new age, just to mention some of the bright shining stars on the sky of The Techno-Pagan Octopus Messiah...
You will carry it around as your Bible and walk right out into the wilderness.
Ian Winns adventures and lust for life power will change your life, your thoughts, your perspectives...
I hope his second book will come soon, we are many disciples out here waiting...
A mind-bending, soul-searching, international rompIs it a novel, a spiritual coming-of-age, a travelogue? Hard to know what shelf to find it on. Perhaps it's
described best as a do-it-yourself guide to wide-eyed, slurp-it-up, grab-with-both-fists living: with the
author's own experience teaching by example.
If you've seen Winn perform his poetry slam act, you'll have had a glimpse of the energy that animates him -
in this book you get to see how that energy takes him through Egypt and India, surfing on the energy waves of
pink-mohawked cultural terrorists, shifty Mohammads, psychic saddhus, frustratingly luscious francaiskas,
glassy-eyed Rajneeshians, and straw-twisting donkey johns. Not a dull page in the book.
I won't give away the end except to say that the author gives every indication that his adventures are just
beginning, and so I'm happy to guess that we'll have another adventure of the Octopus Messiah to enjoy
before too long.

Law of Electronic Commerce - Fourth Edition

Good overview, nothing elseIt is from this watershed event, and the data collected therefrom, that all current study of brainwashing and mind control stem. The author then surveys the Pavlov dog experiments, animal research, various large scale experiments involving humans where unbelievable counter intuitive results occur. This book is worth its price just to read about these studies into things like 'the gun effect' where people were actually mroe aggressive to an armed motorist getting stuck on a highway then to an unarmed one.
All in all, this is a general study, somewhat outdated, and is written from English points of view. This is a book you can start with, and then use its extensive bibliography to explore areas that interest you more closely.
